I love Satin Blue nail polish by Chanel, but its too expensive. I know Wet and Wild has a good blue that is a very close match, but I can't even find that in stores. I wish i could because from past experience, the black that they carry rocks, and im sure their blue does too. Any other close matches of this nail polish?Satin Blue Nail polish?
I can't tell for sure if they have a similar shade, but N.Y.C at Target has a pretty wide range of colors, including some hard to find funky shades (which is what i like.) The same goes for Sinful Colors at Walgreens. Both are $2 or less. Also check out Rimmel.
But to tell you the truth, You might want to stay away from Wet and Wild. I like their stuff overall, but i've never had luck with purple shades of polish from them. It's always clumpy or... there's something wrong with it. Since blue is close to purple, it might have the same problem. But, hey, it's so cheap, why not just try it?Satin Blue Nail polish?

I think reds look realy good on medium skin, but make sure any color you pick is in a darker shade. Orangy red doesnt look good. I think browns, golds, reds, maroon/burgundys look awesome. If you are lighter skin with yellow under tones (like me), try colors with metallic shines, and sheer colors.
go with a nice strong pink! My friend wears browns and blues... it all depends on your attitude... don't let your medium tone keep you from exploring different colors!!
if you have longish nails you could just paint the tops of them white and leave the rest! Or a nice hot pink or blood red!

here's what my gf wore to a party we went to last week (both of us coming from really really rich famalies and all... It was one hell of a party) - so, she wore:
the white gold and sapphire jewellry set I gave her (ring, bangles, earrings, and necklace)
a blue silk cocktail dress
French manicure :D
basically fashion is now two tone... Wear two colors... In her case, white and blue. The nailpolish thing just doesn't fit anymore. Manicures however, do.

put a plastic glove on that has cutouts for the fingernails. i always get the polish on my skin a little when i paint mine so i remove it with nail polish remover.
Hiya, best way is to get a good nail varnish, after youve painted them put your fingers in a bowl of hot water (not 2 hot) leave your fingers in for 30 secs, the walla!!! nails dry n no smudgies! i do it all the time :)
Apply an even thin Layer,
Then when it has Dried, Go over it again.
I suggest painting the other hand when the first one is Dry,
Haha, i always smudge it when i paint the other hand, whilst the ones i just painted are still wet.
You have to have a steady hand, so practise is good.
Also if you do get any sudges on your Skin, Just gets a Cotton Bud, and nail polish Remover, and carefully rub that bit off.
You can also get Pointy Cotton Buds, so it is easier to get to it without also rubbing the nail polish off from your nails,^_^
well if you want to use your own the best way is to start at the top of your nail and work from the outside in...

Hiya, best way is to get a good nail varnish, after youve painted them put your fingers in a bowl of hot water (not 2 hot) leave your fingers in for 30 secs, the walla!!! nails dry n no smudgies! i do it all the time :)
Apply an even thin Layer,
Then when it has Dried, Go over it again.
I suggest painting the other hand when the first one is Dry,
Haha, i always smudge it when i paint the other hand, whilst the ones i just painted are still wet.
You have to have a steady hand, so practise is good.
Also if you do get any sudges on your Skin, Just gets a Cotton Bud, and nail polish Remover, and carefully rub that bit off.
You can also get Pointy Cotton Buds, so it is easier to get to it without also rubbing the nail polish off from your nails,^_^
well if you want to use your own the best way is to start at the top of your nail and work from the outside in...

uhm that is weird lol but try using stronger remover and sumthn thicker than a cotton....thing. if u have a design that ha more than just nail polish (top paint, glitter like that other person sed, or jewels) itll be harder to remove. also, maybe ur nail polish isnt acrilic, and ur using the rong kind of remover....is there not acrilic nail polish? idk, but this is all i can think of! as for ur friend, uhm...its not a freak thing, cuz i no people with really small piggy toes (lol), and that ';drop'; of polish culd be bigger than her toe! my piggy toe isnt THAT small, but hey...if ur piggy toenail was big, it wuldnt be called a piggie toe, right? lol

I always wear gloves, polish or no polish. My hands tend to dry out when I wash dishes. I put some lotion on, slip on the gloves, and wash the dishes. Well I'm not sure, but if you happen to go to a store that carries nailpolish [ a make up store like sephora or ulta is great ] you can always ask a sales person if they happen to know a nail polish named after celebrities and tell them that you know of one color 'kylie'. Well I'm not sure, but if you happen to go to a store that carries nailpolish [ a make up store like sephora or ulta is great ] you can always ask a sales person if they happen to know a nail polish named after celebrities and tell them that you know of one color 'kylie'. Yesterday my uncle spanked the hell out of my cousin because he put on nail polish.?
Yesterday my family and I went over to my grandma's house just too see how she was doing and my 6 year old cousin went to the bathroom as soon as we entered the house. He was in there for over 15 minutes so my uncle went to check on him. When he went in my cousin had on one of my grandma's wigs and had nail polish all over his hands and lipstick all ovr his face. My uncle immediatly took off his belt and hit on his knees, arms, and hands. He must of hit him about 20 times with that thing making remarks like '; nail polish is for girls, you're a boy ';. Well, I wouldn't have ';beaten'; him, though I would have been a little peeved after a good laugh, seeing him in all that makeup and stuff. I would have also explained to him that not only is makeup and nail polish is for girls but this stuff is not for him to get into. It is not his to play with. He should not be meddling in other people's belongings. I'd also want to know if this child has been beaten like this before and if so, I'd report your uncle to the police.
Shame on you for not reporting him, that is abuse whether it is 1 time or 20 times, that was NOT a spanking. A spanking is different from being hit 20 times all over with a belt. You as an older teen or an adult are failing this child by allowing something like this to have happened in your presence. You need to right now report this! You can do so where no one will know it is you. I cannot believe you defended this man for his behavior!! Right now you are contributing to the abuse of a 6 year old child by sitting by and doing nothing. If something happens to him in the future you can hold yourself partially responsible, and I promise you you will.
Reporting him does not mean the child will be taken from him, your uncle will be shown how to properly discipline and take care of a child. Your uncle will have to take parenting classes and talk with a social worker. They would not remove the child unless this had happened before or happens again.
I believe hitting a six year old with a belt 20 times on the knees, arms and hands is abuse The 6 year old is being a kid, and although he may need some discipline so he knows this is not acceptable at grandmas house, he is blameless when it comes to getting beaten. I actually feel sick in my stomach for this kid, if he is getting hit like that in front of people, what is happening to him at home when no one else is there. I have 2 kids and would never hit them with a belt for any reason. Even one swat on the butt is better than out right beating the poor boy! He is only 6 for goodness sakes! put on one more coat

Why won't my nail polish HARDEN?
I have all salon brands, (opi, china glaze, etc) and every time I paint my nails, I make sure to start with clean hands, I do 3 thin coats of polish, and I wait about 10 minutes between each coat, and once finished, I wait about 25 minutes before touching anything. They certainly feel dry, but even hours later, (like 5 or 6 hours later) the polish is still gummy and scratches off easily. Why won't it ever harden?Why won't my nail polish HARDEN?

Best nail polish remover?
Whenever I remove my nail polish it is really difficult. It takes about 20 minutes to get all the polish off my toenails. I don't remember it being this ridiculously tough to remove polish 20 years ago. Is there a polish remover that works really well?
If it matters, I typically use either OPI or Sally Hansen polish and I never use any kind of top coat, base coat, etc. Maybe that's part of the problem? I just don't have that much time to do my nails.Best nail polish remover?

I personally use some random cheap generic brand. I dunno if you have ridges in your nails or not but I do; they go up and down, so i wipe the cotton ball side to side and it comes off quicker. And I don't really wipe, I literally have to use like a ';scrubbing'; speed (like I am doing dishes haha)... and of course the darker the polish the harder it is to get all of it.
I don't think top/base coat (or lack thereof) makes much difference.

Will nail polish melt plastic?
I know that sounds like a stupid question, bust part of my Halloween costume is a helmet. It's black with silver scratches. I want to keep the scratches, but make them look bronze. I have a nail polish color that would be perfect...but will it melt the helmet?

If your worried, try some bronze mteallic spray paint. Spray it onto a q-tip or a cut-up strip of a makeup sponge - then use those two things to apply it.
Or just test the nail polish on a small part of plastic that doesn't show up if it does melt.

depends on what im wearing. i like to paint my toenails black, but apparently that is not professional so i can only do it when i plan on wearing closed toe shoes. so normally i stick in the reds, pinks, and today they are coral. i tend to not paint my nails because that is too much maintence.

My favorite nail polish color is linkin park after dark by OPI. It's a really dark purple, and the color lasts forever.
right now my toes r shiny purple, and my fingers r rainbow, but I really like neon colors and black...and black french tipped.
I like a robin's egg blue/aqua color... well it's my favorite color so i like it best on my nails ;)
I like silver, purple, or magenta-ish. :)

At this point, it is pretty stuck.
You can try rubbing the nial polish with non acetone nail polish remover. The acetone stuff will destroy the fabric of the pants.

if you on another coat it will just be harder and take longer to take off. usually there are instructions on the bottle. i really like using cu-tips to get near your cuticles but you can use it for the entire finger\hand. for the amount just make sure it is fully soaked
kleenex or tp will work with polish remover.

If you put another coat on top and wipe it off, part of it will come off but the other half will stay on and look crappy. Use a little remover at first, and then add more if the polish isn't coming off. take a clean-ex curl it in a ball then take another clean-ex and smooth it over the first one. It will work just as well as cotton balls. That's what I use. It's cheaper.

How old are you? Use a Kleenex if you don't have cotton balls or wipe pads. You need remover to get old polish off....not more polish.
It is true that if you put another coat of nail polish on your nails that the previous nail polish will wipe off, but not as clean.
now, if you have those cotton pads that you wipe your face with, that can work, or really good towel paper can work also.
or even jay cloth.

You can use the nail polish to remove the nail polish..

I do prefer that you add a shiny top coat to any dull color, and only a grey if you typically have they kind of style where you wear mainly black, white and grey clothing, but with a single garment of a vibrant color.
If you must have a flat dull grey, i would recommend having several brightly colored rings or bracelets, to make up for and balance out the nails.
For shades of grey, i advise having either a dusky, almost black shade, or one that is right in the middle, if the grey's too lightly colored, it will appear as if you were wearing white polish, but you simply don't have good hygiene, so they turned grey, a bit nasty in my opinion.

Nail polish marks on paper?
I work with a lot of paper and I find that my nail polish leaves little marks on the sheets. I've tried using topcoats, but it still happens. Is there anything else I could try to keep the colour from rubbing off?Nail polish marks on paper?
It could be hours later that you are leaving the marks on the paper, but realistically your nail polish may be dry to the light touch by then but still not totally cured. It can take up to 24 hours for all the layers of the coats to bond together and harden properly. As well, nail polish is only a physical coating, and it will wear off or rub off on anything it comes into contact with. Paper is especially bad because it is a fibrous material, and is very drying to skin. I would keep experimenting with top coats, and consult a nail salon to see which brands they use that they feel have the best reputation for wear and durability.Nail polish marks on paper?

I am already aware of at least two manufacturers addressing problems similar to yours of leaving color traces where they ought not be: Revlon, which introduced the ColorStay nail finishing system a few years back (a two-step system with a high-adhesion color layer and acrylic top coat), and Sally Hansen Division, Del Laboratories, who introduced the Hard As Nails Hard As Wraps enamel collection last year and already have customer testimonials to this system's effectiveness. I cannot rule out other companies working on solutions to this wear problem.
