Will nail polish melt plastic?

I know that sounds like a stupid question, bust part of my Halloween costume is a helmet. It's black with silver scratches. I want to keep the scratches, but make them look bronze. I have a nail polish color that would be perfect...but will it melt the helmet?

I like it because it makes the silver look bronze, but it doesn't cover up the blackWill nail polish melt plastic?
I dont think so.. nail polish remover might, but probably not nail polish. Theres not much acidic ingredients in nail polish. If there was, we probably wouldn't put it on our nails.

If your worried, try some bronze mteallic spray paint. Spray it onto a q-tip or a cut-up strip of a makeup sponge - then use those two things to apply it.

Or just test the nail polish on a small part of plastic that doesn't show up if it does melt.

Best of Luck! Will nail polish melt plastic?
It won't melt the plastic, but if you're gonna be taking it off later the polish remover might remove the original paint too if you're not careful.
No, it won't melt it. It probably won't stay on very long either.
It won't melt it unless you plan on heating the nail polish...
umm i dunno
