put a plastic glove on that has cutouts for the fingernails. i always get the polish on my skin a little when i paint mine so i remove it with nail polish remover.
Hiya, best way is to get a good nail varnish, after youve painted them put your fingers in a bowl of hot water (not 2 hot) leave your fingers in for 30 secs, the walla!!! nails dry n no smudgies! i do it all the time :)
Apply an even thin Layer,
Then when it has Dried, Go over it again.
I suggest painting the other hand when the first one is Dry,
Haha, i always smudge it when i paint the other hand, whilst the ones i just painted are still wet.
You have to have a steady hand, so practise is good.
Also if you do get any sudges on your Skin, Just gets a Cotton Bud, and nail polish Remover, and carefully rub that bit off.
You can also get Pointy Cotton Buds, so it is easier to get to it without also rubbing the nail polish off from your nails,^_^
well if you want to use your own the best way is to start at the top of your nail and work from the outside in...
sally hansen has this nail polish that has a brush thats wide enough for basically a one stroke application, it works really well

put nail polish solvent in to make sure its thin (for quick drying) and after the first coat dries apply the second
apply in threestrokes-one on each side and on the middle
Get a towel or some surface you don't mind getting polish on. First put on a coat of clear nail polish as a base. Then apply about two coats of your color carefully and evenly. Don't touch the nail polish with anything while it's drying! Give it a really long time before you even poke it to test if it's dry.
being careful
A strip down the middle, then one down the sides pushing down harder as you go.
The the other side.
