Yes, nail polish remover will damage the plastic.
You can try to chip it off but that will leave scratch marks.
This is why it is so cheap. I suggest you:
Dilute the nail polish remover with rubbing alcohol and water. Use a Q-tip to gently brush this solution directly onto the nail polish and avoid getting it on the plastic. Go slow and be careful.
